The story follows Lucy, a pampered Golden Retriever, who is kidnapped by smugglers and taken to a bleak kennel in London. Alongside her fellow canine captives—a wise Spaniel, two brave Dobermans, a vain Afghan, and a clever Yorkshire Terrier—she embarks on a daring escape. Facing challenges like busy streets and a menacing gang of rats in the Underground, the dogs must rely on teamwork and courage to evade recapture and navigate their way back home.
