Following the breakup of the United States, scientists attempted to combat severe droughts by seeding clouds with engineered bacteria, resulting in deadly rains that kill anyone exposed. Amidst this perilous landscape, whispers circulate about a group of survivors, known as rainwalkers, who have found a way to endure the lethal downpours, raising questions about survival and resilience in a transformed world.
