Two key constructions are highlighted: the basilica at Aquisgranum and a wooden bridge over the Rhine at Mainz. The basilica, intended as Charlemagne's tomb, was adorned with gold, silver, and bronze, reflecting his Christian devotion. Eginhardt describes the church's grandeur, emphasizing its foreign influences, particularly from Ravenna and Rome, as Charlemagne imported columns and marbles for its construction.
