This volume brings together comparative religious ethics and interreligious dialogue for the first time, fostering constructive collaboration. It is based on two key insights: interreligious dialogue provides comparative religious ethics with a compelling rationale and practical orientation, while comparative religious ethics equips interreligious dialogue with critical tools and methods to enhance its effectiveness. This synergy allows for a mutual exchange where theory and praxis benefit each other. Contributors to the volume embrace this collaborative vision, transcending disciplinary boundaries to address significant methodological and global moral issues. To maintain clarity, the volume is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on method, theory, and the public intellectual's social role, while the second part addresses substantive moral themes and issues, many of which emerged from the 1993 Parliament. Collectively, the essays present innovative approaches to contemporary moral concerns in a cross-cultural context, maintaining rigor suitable for our complex and pluralistic world.
