Klasický fantastický příběh
Tato kniha je definicí umění, čtenář v ní může nají definici dekadence a mentálního nastavení tehdejší doby a svou definici krásy. Každou postavu budete milovat a nenávidět zároveň. Budete brečet i u smrti postavy, co jste chtěli profackovat. Postavy mají hloubku. Co považuji za nejdůležitější je, že ty postavy mají chyby. Což mi v moderní literatuře chybí. (Já osobně obrečela i postavu co tam byla jen "na 5 minut".) Děj asi nemusím blíže komentovat, ale můžu říct, že opravdu se tam nejsou nějak dlouhé nudné pasáže. Je to pro lidi co rádi filozofují, mají rádi gotický a hororový nádech, posviktoriánský Londýn.
Moje nejoblíbenější klasika.
Výborná knížka, jedna z mých nejoblíbenějších. Vtáhne vás do děje a nepustí, dokud ji nedočtete. Děj je nasáklý ponurou atmosférou Anglie koncem 19. století, plný symbolik a výborných postav, dekadence a sofistikovaně skryté homosexuální tématiky. Jednoznačně nejlepší knížka z maturitního kánonu.
