Je důležité mít na paměti, že se jedná o fikci. I přesto je to silných 320 stran, které s člověkem pořádně otřesou. Nečekejte běžný thriller. V knize sledujeme příběh hned několika lidí - zavraždených dívek, rodinu vraha a dalších důležitých vypravěčů. O nich polčím, protože bych vás připravila o ty dojmy a emoce, kterými jsem si během čtení prošla já sama. Kniha je specifická tím, že je vyprávěná v er-formě a v du-formě. Obsahuje hluboké filozofické otázky. Pracuje s otázkou rasové diskriminace. Zamýšlíme se i nad otázkou mateřství... během vyprávění narazíme na mnoho těžkých otázek, na které nedostaneme odpovědi - ty musíme najít sami. SPOILER: Když dojde konečně na okamžik, kdy je Anselm ve věznici popravován, tak se mi udělalo až zle. Pralo se to ve mně. Věděla jsem, že si to zasloužil (vzal 4 lidské životy), ale jeho strach a touha po životě... byl to silný okamžiky, kdy jsem měla husí kůži. Následný popis toho, jak si uvědomoval konec a “lehko a prázdno. To mnou hluboce otřáslo. Tato kniha si podle mého názoru zaslouží pozornost.
