Toto je moja prvá kniha od Bradburyho a musím povedať, že nikdy pretým som sa nestretla s knihou ktorá by bola písaná podobným štýlom. Bradburyho jazyk je veľmi poetický, snový a rád píše v metaforách a práve toto robí túto knihu výnimočnou. Kniha poukazuje na leto dvanásťročného Douglasa. Rozpráva o živote Douglasa, o jeho radostiach ale aj strastiach ktoré život prináša, ktoré sú opísané aj v samotných myšlienkach Douglasa. Douglas si postupne uvedomuje že sa pomaly ale isto vzďaľuje od svojho detstva. Autor túto tému vyjadruje veľmi jemným spôsobom. Určite odporúčam túto knihu. Dej je pomalší a skôr opisuje okolnosti než akciu ale zato čitateľ má pocit že všetky dobrodružstvá prežíva bok po boku s Douglasom a jeho priateľmi.
