Autorka opět nezklamala moje očekávání. Na tento titul jsem narazila dřív, než jsem si pořídila a přečetla Než jsme byly tvoje, ale četla jsem ho nakonec až po knize Než jsme byly tvoje. Tento titul mě zaujal už svým názvem, nicméně anotace ještě víc, protože doslova až sbírám příběhy, které vysvětlují minulost, souvislosti, příčiny, vše předcházející tomu nynějšímu. Mám více knih obsahujících příběhy skupin segregovaných, vyloučených a nepřijatých "včera, dnes nebo zítra". Autorka má zvláštní, poměrně výpravný, až básnický způsob vyjadřování, což si taky cením. Na tuhle knihu jsem se těšila, četla jsem jí na moje poměry dlouho a pomalu, ale zato s požitkem, protože pro mě to byl příběh vystavěný precizně, čistě i emočně. Milovala jsem během četby obě dějové/časové linie a nemohla se dočkat každého dalšího postupu obou hlavních postav.
