Darien, who specializes in hunting down dangerous demons, finds himself protecting Loren instead of turning her in for a reward, realizing she poses no threat. As they work together, Loren grapples with her growing feelings for Darien while trying to stay focused on the mission. Their search intensifies as more women go missing and some turn up dead, leading them into Angelthene's dark underbelly, where they uncover a secret that could unravel their world. In the face of tragedy, Loren discovers that love can inspire ordinary people to perform extraordinary deeds.
