When 63-year-old Sylvia discovers her husband in bed with a woman from their Boca retirement community, she experiences shock and fury. Determined to pursue her dreams, Sylvia decides to leave Boca for Manhattan, enlisting Evie to join her. However, she faces unexpected resistance from her daughter Isabel, who believes Sylvia’s past life of leisure makes her unfit for the workforce and insists she should stay with her husband. Compounding her challenges, Sylvia's husband reveals he has lost their life savings and cuts off her credit card. Undeterred, Sylvia and Evie embrace their scrappy determination, resorting to pawning jewelry and staying in a youth hostel, all while navigating the vibrant chaos of New York City. With careers, romance, and adventure awaiting them, they are ready to seize their second acts.
