However, her plans take an unexpected turn when a flight cancellation forces her to share a ride with Hollis Hollenbeck, a skeptical acquaintance from her ex's MFA program. Hollis is dismissive of the idea of happily-ever-afters and doubts the success of Millie's quest. As they navigate quirky bed-and-breakfasts, small-town festivals, and even suicidal deer, Millie starts to sense that Hollis might be more invested in their journey than he admits.
