J.K. miluje popisování. Popisování věcí, postav, okolí, místa, nálady, všeho, a v téhle knize si to neskutečně užívá – a upřímně to bylo hodně na škodu. Kvůli tomu je kniha až zbytečně zdlouhavá. Pokud by se to trochu osekalo, příběh by měl krásné tempo a byl by napínavější. Další, co bych knize vytkla, je, že typ na vraha jsem měla od doby, co se tam ta postava objevila. Ano, byla tam jedna scéna, která ve mně vyvolala lehké pochyby, ale stejně jsem svůj typ držela – a světe div se, trefila jsem se. Od určitého momentu je to totiž strašně průhledné. Tím ale neříkám, že to bylo špatně napsané nebo promyšlené, to ne. Jen bych očekávala větší šok nebo zvrat, který vůbec nepřišel. Postava Cormorana je ale skvělá, stejně jako jeho pravé ruky Robin – oba mají super přátelskou chemii a obě postavy skvěle fungují. Kvůli nim bych klidně v sérii pokračovala dál, ale nemyslím si, že by kniha stála za to, abych ji měla v knihovně – alespoň ne tato.

Kniha tlustá, ale napínavá až do konce. A nejen to: autorka předkládá skvělé vykreslení postav. Hlavní postava Cormoran Strike je sice invalida, ale chytrý a sexy - prostě jednička! Za překlad neručím, četla jsem anglicky.
Hezky vystavěné prostředí, pomalejší detektivka, kde se postupně odhalují střípky příběhu
Nemám ráda detektivky, ale tato mě moc bavila. Je to lehké, oddechové čtení o vraždě/dách v atraktivních kulisách modelingu a společenské smetánky, po kterých pátrá detektiv - sympaťák. J.K. Rowlingová pod tímto pseudonymem příjemně překvapila.
