Ani tentokrát se Hunter nevyhne spolupráci s FBI. U více Carterových knih jsem si všiml, že i když jsou agenti vykresleni jako profesionálové, jejich chování někdy postrádá logiku. A pár takových momentů najdeme i zde. Zkušení čtenáři Chrise Cartera opět narazí na stručná shrnutí minulosti hlavních postav – vstřícné gesto vůči nováčkům. Nechybí ani typické cliffhangery, které autor tentokrát vyšrouboval ještě o úroveň výš. Jeden si totiž nechal až na úplný závěr. Z vězení uniká pachatel, se kterým se Hunter potkal ve Zlobě. Carter ale stále dokazuje, že umí čtenáře vést napínavým příběhem s jistotou a nápaditostí. O to víc zamrzí, že samotné finále působí spíš civilně. Ne že by bylo špatné – jen zůstává překvapivě klidné v porovnání s předchozím děním.
