Mitch Rapp returns in this timely thriller as a Saudi prince is discovered funding ISIS, unearthing buried secrets about the Saudi government's involvement in 9/11. After the attacks, the U.S. struck a dangerous deal to conceal evidence against powerful Saudis in exchange for oil and cooperation. When the king’s nephew is implicated in ISIS funding, the president doubts the Saudis' commitment to the agreement and decides to send a message. He enlists Rapp for the mission, but with the caveat that America must not be seen acting against an ally. Rapp resigns from the CIA and gathers independent contractors to tackle the task. As they begin to expose the links between the Saudi government and ISIS, the new head of the intelligence directorate catches wind of their activities. With Rapp getting too close to the truth, he threatens to reveal the details of the post-9/11 agreement, risking an international incident that could jeopardize the president's career. In response, the president orders U.S. intelligence agencies to assist the Saudis in hunting Rapp down. Left with only a team of mercenaries with questionable loyalties, Rapp finds himself at the center of a massive manhunt. Time is running out as he races to turn the tables on the Saudis and clear his name before he is caught or killed.
