Communication soon ceases, and the sky turns ominously orange. Two months later, the survivors are holed up in a hotel with a dark history of suicides and murders. Those unable to cope either take their own lives or venture into the woods. As they struggle to maintain some semblance of civilization, water pressure disappears, prompting Jon and others to investigate the tanks. The shocking discovery of the girl's body intensifies Jon's obsession with the case as supplies dwindle and tensions rise. He grapples with the question of whether he can maintain his sanity in the hotel or if he should risk the dangers of the outside world.
