Richard Horatio Edgar Wallace was a prolific English writer known for his thrillers, which he began crafting after returning to London from the Second Boer War. His experiences as a war correspondent influenced his storytelling, leading to notable works like "The Four Just Men" and "Sanders of the River." Wallace also ventured into screenwriting in Hollywood before his untimely death while working on "King Kong." His extensive output was so significant that a publisher claimed he authored a quarter of all books in England during his time.
