The Countess of Prague introduces Beatrice von Falklenburg, affectionately known as Trixie, who embarks on a ten-book investigative journey across Europe from 1904 to 1914. When the body of an old man, once under her military uncle's command, is discovered in the Vltava River, Trixie steps into the role of a detective. Her investigations allow her to mingle with royalty while maintaining connections to everyday people. This new role transforms her interactions with servants and officials, leading to unexpected encounters, including a surprising meeting with her butler. Trixie even goes undercover as a young man on a train to Paris and London. Ultimately, her journey takes her to Marienbad, where a notable meeting between Edward VII and Kaiser Wilhelm sets the stage for unfolding mysteries.
