The story follows the young haremaid Dotti and the badger-warrior Lord Brocktree as they embark on a quest to reclaim Salamandastron from the wildcat Ungatt Trunn and his Blue Hordes. Despite their differences, they unite various woodland creatures—including hares, otters, shrews, moles, mice, and squirrels—to form an army. Together, they devise a clever strategy to confront their formidable foes, emphasizing teamwork and ingenuity over sheer strength.
