The arrival of seventy-two men in a small Sicilian town transforms the lives of the locals and the newcomers alike. Known as the ragazzi, these migrants navigate their uncertain future amid a diverse cast of characters, including a vicar who alters their histories, a woman advocating for their asylum, and a man opposing it. An older ragazzo serves as an interpreter, while a reclusive poet grapples with his lost creativity. The narrative explores themes of identity, community, and the complexities of migration.
