Set against the backdrop of post-revolutionary Russia, the story follows Sergei Falkov, who initially travels to the U.S. to foster trade relations. Upon returning home after Lenin's death, he finds his country under Stalin's oppressive regime. Sent to a forced labor camp, Sergei, lacking the physical resilience of his peers, must navigate the brutal environment using his wits and cunning to endure the harsh realities of life in captivity.
