This is a replica of the very first edition and first printing of 1868 'Little Women', written by Louisa May Alcott. It is the first part of two that were released a year apart. The first print run had only 2,000 copies and sold out very quickly. The publisher had trouble keeping up with the demand. Little Women is a semi-autobiographical account of Alcott's childhood with her sisters in Concord, Massachusetts. Loosely based on the same setting, this story follows the March sisters- Meg, Beth, Jo and Amy- as they grow from childhood to womanhood. It is one of the greatest writing accomplishments of the 19th century.
