Dr Eleanor Friedman-Bernal is a ceramics expert studying clay pots of the Anasazi, the ancient pots of Navajo culture. One morning she disappears. To her friends she is a missing person - to Leaphorn and Chee she is a possible criminal, under suspicion for excavating valuable relics.
